KEY POINTS FROM THE NOV 5 MEETING
It's easiest when you make bicycling a daily routine - you know what to expect and how to dress. If you bike through the fall then you don't have an abrupt temperature change
Midtown and LRT trails in Minneapolis are usually plowed first thing in the morning - click here for more

Comments

Equipment: I've been wearing $30 REI mittens WITHOUT glove liners and it seems warmer.

Ice alert: My first (and only?) wipeout came this week at a 4-way stop at a school. At -6 the exhaust from the starting and stopping cars and buses froze into an ice layer hidden on the packed snow.

Tires: Since this slippery nowpack is sticking around I'm thinking of studded tires. I expect the roads to dry up before I get to the bike store.
