AAAS Librarian Gatherings

A group of librarians gathers informally at American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) meetings.

Agricultural Economics Committees

In the American Agricultural Economics Association (AAEA), librarians participate in relevant committees such as Communications/Publications and Economics, Statistics and Information Resources.

Geoscience Information Society

The Geoscience Information Society (GIS) is associated with the American Geological Society (GSA) and they meet in conjunction with the AGS annual meetings. The relationship between GIS and GSA is formal enough that GIS meeting presentation abstracts appear in the GSA abstracts book.

Atmospheric Science Librarians International

Atmospheric Science Librarians International (ASLI) is affiliated with the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and holds its meetings in conjunction with AMS.

Engineering Libraries Division of ASEE

The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) has an Engineering Libraries Division (ELD). As the name of the parent group indicates, ELD is concerned with supporting engineering education. ELD has an active listserv that is open to non-members as well as ELD members, ELDNET-L.

Chemical Information Division of the American Chemical Society

The Chemical Information Division (CINF) has been a part of the American Chemical Society (ACS) for more than 50 years. It began as the Chemical Literature Group in 1943, became the Chemical Literature Division in 1948, and has been called the Chemical Information Division since 1975. The group, which has about 1600 members, includes a substantial number of academic and corporate librarians in addition to chemical informaticians, database producers, and others who facilitate access to chemical and related information.
