Nearly one-third of children and adolescents are overweight or obese. That’s one of the troubling facts presented by SPH professor Mary Story at a Congressional hearing on children’s health issues.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar presided over the hearing as chair of the Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Children’s Health. She called for efforts to increase access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity. “And that starts in our neighborhoods and schools,” she said.
