Central Minnesota Area Health Education Center Camps to Careers in Healthcare will be held on the University of Minnesota-Morris campus June 13-15, 2012.

This is an exciting opportunity for 2012-13 school year 10th - 12th grade students to explore and prepare for exciting, high-wage, high-demand careers in the health care field. Students can 'try on' careers through interactive, hands-on projects led by a variety of health care provider experts. Participants will also receive resources and guidance to take the next steps in their career development.

In addition, students will stay on campus for the two nights of camp, and get that "university" experience. Cost is $100 per participant which includes dorm room, meals, and activities. The cost for this camp is subsidized by Central Minnesota Area Health Education Center. Students are required to arrange transportation to and from camp.

Space is limited. Priority registration deadline is May 15, 2012. Applications will be accepted beyond this date if space is still available.

The University of Minnesota 11th annual Public Health Institute offers courses for everyone practicing in or studying public health or fields related to public health.

The Public Health Institute includes a collection of fast-paced and interactive courses in nine public health areas with an emphasis on theory-to-practice, with opportunities for field trips, case studies, hands-on labs, and simulations.

The courses are available May 21-June 8, 2012.

Registration is open for professionals seeking Continuing Education Units. Registration for Graduate credit opens , enrolled University of Minnesota Students can register beginning April 10th and to the public on April 17.

The Expo will include a Career Alley where students can talk in small groups with STEM professionals. An Exhibit Fair will highlight after-school, community, business, and post-secondary STEM opportunities. Daytime participants will also experience a main-stage performance surrounding the wonders of science.

Many health care careers require in-depth knowledge in science, technology, engineering, or math. Course work and training in these fields are a part of the education of a health care professional.

The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA), Minneapolis Public Schools and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) are sponsoring the STEM Expo. The Expo is organized in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Education and AchieveMpls.

New and prospective students are invited to visit the University of Minnesota, Crookston to learn more about the campus during Preview Day, on Saturday, November 19, 2011. The welcome and admissions presentations begin at 10 a.m..

Preview Day is designed to help students and their families as they make decisions about college. Students are encouraged to bring their families along for the in depth look at campus.

The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) 2011 National Conference takes place November 10-12, 2011 in Minneapolis, MN

Held annually since 1978, the AISES National Conference is a one-of-a-kind, three-day event convening high school juniors and seniors, college and graduate students, teachers, workforce professionals, corporate partners, and all members of the "AISES family."

Held in a different North American city each fall, the AISES Annual Conference includes professional development, networking opportunities, student presentations, the largest career fair in Indian Country, awards, and traditional events.

CCH will be held on the University of Minnesota Morris campus and will feature a variety of experts from the health care field.
