AP Liaison Video Project
As part of the Academic Programs (AP) Liaison Orientation and Training framework currently under development, a subgroup was assembled last summer to create several short videos of successful liaisons addressing how they engage with their departments ( https://wiki.lib.umn.edu/AP/LiaisonVideoProject ). The resulting five to seven minute videos have become more than just an education tool for new librarians - they paint an amazing portrait of what it is to be a library liaison by highlighting our efforts, big and small, in a new way!
On behalf of the AP Liaison Video Project group, I'm happy to share the final results now available on our project wiki at: https://wiki.lib.umn.edu/AP/LiaisonVideoProjectVideos . Special thanks to the AP liaisons who volunteered to share their experiences with us! Thanks Jim Beattie, Kate Brooks, Su Chen, Liz Fine, Kris Fowler, Julie Kelly, Scott Marsalis, Andre Nault, Kate Peterson, and Rafael Tarrago. Enjoy!

Customer Service Survey in the Libraries
Information Access and Delivery Services (IADS) Customer Service training has been offered since 2006. In Spring 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009, we conducted surveys of users in the larger libraries to gather data regarding user perceptions of service. It is time to repeat that survey to see if user perceptions of service have changed. The survey will be an overall effort to measure customer satisfaction and will not be intended as critiques of individual units. This one-page customer service survey will begin Monday, March 22 and run through Sunday, March 28, 2010. Surveys will be distributed in:
- Bio-Medical Library: Second floor Public Service desk
- Magrath Library: Circulation/Reserve desk
- Walter Library: Basement Circulation desk and Second floor Public Service desk
- Wilson Library: First floor Circulation desk, Basement Copy/Circulation desk, and Annex
A similar customer service survey will be conducted at the Branch libraries in the Fall. Please contact Steve Llewellyn, at 5-7940, if you have any questions.

Throughout history, the illustrated book has served a significant role in the practice of religion and the expression of religious beliefs. Visual images are incorporated into written texts to nurture a greater understanding of religious narratives and evoke acts of spiritual contemplation. Ranging from bibles to codices to examples of great literature and reproductions of master paintings, the books in the Francis V. Gorman Rare Art Book Collection and the University's Special Collections demonstrate the key role art and artists play in the cultivation and promotion of religion, faith and spirituality.
