Digital Collections Internal Grant Program Awardees
The Digital Library Services (DLS) department would like to congratulate all of the awardees of this year's Internal Grant Program. The selection committee felt that these fourteen projects represented an opportunity to further highlight the University Libraries' unique and distinct collections. Best Wishes to Linda Eells
Best wishes to Linda Eells, Head of the Forestry and Entomology, Fisheries, and Wildlife Libraries in Academic Programs, Agricultural, Biological, and Environmental Sciences (ABES), who has accepted a position as the Librarian at the Waite Library in the Department of Applied Economics, right here at the University of Minnesota. ABES will certainly miss Linda, but we are happy to know she will be close by (right next door in Ruttan Hall), and that we will be able to continue to work with her on programs like AgEcon Search.
Linda's last day with the University Libraries will be Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Thank you to Linda for her many contributions to the Libraries and her liaison departments and we wish her success in his new position. After December 20, 2011, referrals and questions related to forestry, entomology, fisheries, wildlife, and conservation biology can be directed to Philip Herold at: herol008@umn.edu .

Linda Eells and Julie Kelly Recieve IonE Grant Award
Congratulations to Linda Eells and Julie Kelly on their recent mini-grant award from the University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment! Their proposal, titled, "EnviroSearch: A Feasibility Study for a Repository of Environmental Research and Policy," was selected as one of thirteen awards made by IonE. The grant program encourages collaboration among faculty, staff, and students across University of Minnesota disciplines, units, and campuses on environmental themes. Along with up to $3,000 in funding, each recipient is provided space for meetings, workshops, conferences, and some administrative support for a year. Linda and Julie will lead an investigation to determine whether the University of Minnesota should develop an online, open access environmental sciences resource repository.

Paper Presentation Published
In October 2010, Katherine Chew and Erinn Aspinall presented a paper at the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) Library Assessment Conference titled, "Serving Multiple Stakeholders: Crafting a "Blended" Scorecard at the University of Minnesota Health Sciences Libraries." The conference proceedings have now been published, and you can find their paper on pages 335 through 343 at: http://libraryassessment.org/bm~doc/proceedings-lac-2010.pdf . The paper outlines the ambitious approach that the Health Sciences Libraries (HSL) took to develop "metrics that matter" and the lessons that were learned along the way.
