Meaning of the posters

Poster 1: the meaning behind this poster is suppose to represent growth in peace. stating that this is the year we start to grow a new world. I used a tree to represent growth and then put the date as its leaves and it also made it to look like a globe so that you could get the point of growing a new world.

Poster 2: the meaning behind this poster is that we need to break the ground for peace, To start working towards the worlds problems. i show this by having a shovel also used with type breaking in to the ground and as it does all these colors start to come out which could mean by breaking the surface everything is going to get better.

After reading the first article i felt that away to get a lot of peoples attention is to relate your design to something that is very well known around the world. but i was wondering if there are limitations on how far you can actually take an ad. And what does the apple company feel like that now something they started advertising for is coming back to look like they had something to do with Abu Ghraib prison fiasco, but all in all it got peoples attention, and thats one prime focus of being a good designer.. even tho this may or may not have upset apple. I think its a good idea to relate to somethings sometimes but you want to try to get an original design so you can be the one who is getting there designs copied.

Foreign graphic design

I looked a lot in to Chinese Graphic design and i noticed that they used very tone down colors. nothing to bright. Most the art i saw was simple but could very much reflect the culture. I think that its interesting to be able to look at the a piece of art and automatically tell its form that specific cultures lifestyle.

CONTEMPORARY GRAPHIC DESIGN OF IRAN

There was a lot to take out of this article after reading it. Looking at the "graphic art" that is made in the Iran you can see that they tend to focus on the image more then any kind of typography. But they they got to the point that Graphic Designers have been drowning the world in composition, color and font change. i think this is very true there are so many different options out here that designers can work with now i can see how something can be over worked in to losing the true message.
i like to know that information/message is the first component while the audience is the second.
Another comment i found interesting about the is Iran makes a lot of art Modern art when really how modern of place is Iran. this was just a little shocking to me..

Clarity

This Reading really made me think about what i would like to do with my degree once i get done at UMD. I like the fact of making a design for something that you believe in and that really changes someone's feelings towards the subject. I always thought that i would want to get a job in the corporate world, but if i could design something that changes the way people feel thats all i want out of design.. and maybe make a career along they way.
I like the fact of simplicity in a design, the most effective designs have that simple feel to them but you need to make the point clear. I like the designs by the German Designer Uwe Loeshce. He used simple elements but gets the point across doing so.

Color Theory

I was intrigued with how many different way you could make the color wheel. From simple ones to ones that could have almost every color every made. In Ever class we always had to start out making a color wheel, never putting much though in to it just mixing colors but i never new that the colors had so many means and different feelings. We all know that colors "affect" our moods... most days, but to know that they have deeper meanings as well like the color purple has to wealth and madness. But kinda lead me to think of who was the first person to say that purple made them feel mad, but at the same time quite wise, i feel like there is some very different people saying what that color makes them feel and that some colors may give a different feeling to some one else.
