The Egyptian vice president met with the opposition groups, including the Muslim Brotherhood, and announced concessions with hopes to end nearly two weeks of protests.

The concessions include greater freedom of the press, and a reduction in police powers, reports The Associated Press.

Opposition groups are skeptical about the concessions, according to Rueters. Their goal is to have President Hosni Mubarek step down, though he said if he left office now, the country would fall into chaos, reports The Associated Press.
