SOM Clarinet Professor Alexander Fiterstein Makes South Florida Classical Review's Top 10 Performaces of 2011 List

Congratulations to SOM clarinet professor Alexander Fiterstein who was featured in the South Florida Classical Review's Top 10 Performances of 2011. Fiterstein performed with the Friends of Chamber Music of Miami in "Ken Noda and Friends." Fiterstein was described as bringing "agility, a rounded tone and graceful phrasing to Brahms' sonatas."

U of M School of Music Composition Student Composes Music for the Kalers' Winter Greeting

U of M School of Music composition student Adam Zahller Brown (student of James Dillon) composed the music for the U of M presidential couple's animated seasonal ecard. Zahller Brown shared that the project got him to think about "how cool holiday music is as an abstract concept. Music can get people in touch with inexplicable things and bring people together." It's a U of M School of Music Holiday Flash Mob!

The SOM teamed up with the U of M Carlson School of Management to create a holiday flash mob video like no other. The video features SOM student Greg Wrenn (saxophone); Campus Singers Maroon, Gold, and Mosaic; Men's Chorus, Women's Chorus, University Singers, Kathy Saltzman Romey (coordinator, conductor); with audio by the SOM's own Phillip O'Toole.
