M.M. candidate Kelley Sundin awarded the Hildegard and Gustav Must Graduate Fellowship in Estonian American Studies
The Immigration History Research Center (IHRC) at the U of M has awarded the Hildegard and Gustav Must Graduate Fellowship in Estonian American Studies to Kelley Sundin (M.M. candidate, choral conducting). She will conduct research on selected, unpublished choral music for women's chorus from Estonia in the IHRC's Estonian American collections. Sundin's research title is "Estonian Choral Music for the Female Voice: the dissemination of culture, traditions, and stories." The unpublished scores will be premiered on a Master's conducting recital with the University Women's Chorus in November 2012, with historical context added through her IHRC research.
