Seeking U of M Musicians for MN State Fair

The College of Liberal Arts is seeking School of Music ensembles to perform at the Minnesota State Fair on the U of M Stage.

When: August 21 - September 1, 10-4 Mon-Thur, and 10-6 Fri-Sun
Where: U of M Building on Dan Patch Ave (close to Snelling Ave entrance)
Stage: 12' x 12', 3' high, with a canopy
Compensation: Free entry into the Fair
Hosted by: U of M alumnus and Gopher Sports announcer Matt Nelson, who will host stage activities and to highlight the exhibits and groups in the building so that everyone sees more traffic.
Storage: Instruments/equipment can be stored securely at the U of M building when you are not performing, so you can enjoy the Fair while you are there.

The College of Liberal Arts will once again showcase many of its departments inside the U of M building during the course of the State Fair. We invite our outstanding student musicians to join us by performing on the U of M stage for hundreds of Fairgoers. The schedule is wide open at this point and we welcome all types of ensembles--vocal, brass, steel drum, strings--whatever!

Comp tickets will be provided to musicians who commit to performing for at least 60 minutes (this can be split into two 30 minute shifts).

Contact Jackie Stone at with your name, ensemble description, number of members, and date(s) you prefer.
Early deadline (to be included in printed materials) is Friday, May 23.
