Our teachers travel to the student's homes to give private music lessons. Parents love not having to bring their kids to a studio for lessons. Students love being able to practice on their own instrument in the comfort of their own home. While we have offered studio lessons, everyone who has been given the option has chosen to go with in-home lessons. This is a successful niche in the music business that has developed lots of referrals from existing families and a waiting list of interested students!
We do all the advertising to find your students, we set up the recitals, competitions, and other special events. You receive most of the lesson price, plus a travel reimbursement based upon the distance from your house to the student's house. Plus, receive additional pay over time based upon your performance. If one of your current students refers you to a new student, you'll also get to keep a greater share of pay from that referred student. You can choose as many or as few students to take on as you wish.
We are looking for people who love to teach music, and love teaching to children. Two or more years of prior teaching experience is preferred. Just starting out? If you are either a current college student who is working on or a graduate who has a degree in music, then here is your opportunity to get some teaching experience!
Most of our students initially request lessons on the piano or keyboard. However, we are looking for teachers that have a variety of musical abilities. We encourage those who teach strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and voice as well as piano and keyboard to apply!
Since our teachers travel to the student's homes to give the in-home lessons, a reliable car and a cell phone is required. A smart phone is preferred. We make every effort that your coverage area is of a manageable size and close to your residence.
Adam's Music Lessons has been teaching for over 12 years, and is currently focused on the north-central Twin Cities area, including Coon Rapids, Blaine, Fridley, Columbia Heights, and surrounding cities. We have plans to expand and will take students outside of this area when teachers become available. So if you are a teacher that wants to tackle a surrounding city, please let us know!
