Chapstick

Stargirl was never afraid to be herself and was known to write her own songs. She would sing about anything from triangles to birthdays. In her spirit we present "Chapstick".

Has there ever been a time where you sang an impromptu song; what was is about and what were people's reactions? If not, how would you react to seeing "Chapstick" performed in your everyday life?

There is this song from the disney movie "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" that is about portabello road and so whenever i am eating mushrooms like at a restaurant or something i will start singing "portabello road, portabello road, streets where the riches of ages are stowed..." People think I am weird and ask me how i know a song about a portabello road.

My roommate and my little brother and I take normal songs and change the words around so they are funny. People who know us just laugh and shake their heads because they know we are crazy. People who don't know us give us weird looks like maybe we need to be locked away because we laugh so hard at ourselves but we don't care what they think because we think we are hilarious. If I saw that Chapstick commercial on TV, I would be shocked for a minute and then laugh real hard and go buy some Chapstick.

My roommates and I make up funny songs inspired by our daily occurrences. Nobody understands them but us, and everyone thinks we're crazy. I think the best part about singing them is seeing other people's reactions. It's fun.

My friends and I have often wondered what life would be like if it was like a musical, and we then try to sing and see how long we can sustain 'normal' conversations while singing. It is interesting to see how many people will join us/ignore us.

As the composer of this inane jingle, I celebrate Stargirl in all of her flamboyant, irreverent, socially awkward experiences. I recognize the need to break from boredom often and with excessive enthusiasm. This is part of the joy of life- spontaneity!

I have made up funny songs with my friends...however these were never sung in public like stargirl would have done. I love the jingle an think it would make a great commercial!

If I saw "Chapstick" being performed by people like this on a commercial or something, I would think it was the funniest commercial I had ever seen in my life. That is all I really have to say regarding the chapstick jingle.

I have never made up a song about myself, unless it was for this class. I loved doing this...i think that it brought out creative sides in all of us!

I always make up random songs and sing them to my friend Jess. She thinks im weird and laughs at me alot. I have never sang one as creative as the Chapstick Jingle however.

I can't say I've ever sang an impromtu song or had the chance to witness others reactions. If someone were to randomly break out in this song I might be a little suprised and even wonder what's going on. It would definately be funny though!
