Responsibility of the Little Prince

Download file

The Little Prince is a novela by Antoine de Saint-Exupery about a mysterious young prince who shows up inexplicably on planet Earth. He shares his journeys and the knowledge he has gained with a stranger and they become close friends. One piece of wisdoms he imparts on the unsuspecting stranger is something he learned from the fox which states: "One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes." This particular quote is the basis for my video.
How would you interpret this quote? How can you apply this quote to your own life?

I interpret this quote and meaning materials are never as important as concepts like love, laughter and responsibility. You cant feel complete without these things, no matter how many materials you possess.

We go through our lives sometimes seeing too literally what is in front of us and therfore placing too much emphasis on the physical world. When I think of this quote, which is the heart of the story, I interpret it to mean that that of most value are the abstract concepts of love, beauty, peace, time, companionship, friendship, etc. I think that it's very easy to get cught up in our physical lives each day and we must re-learn or re-train ourselves to concentrate on the core of our value system- those things which we hold dear to our heart. SOmetimes, meditation can bring us closer to our center and our wholeness. I've recently heard of a mediative practice that has laughing as part of the meditation. THe world is too much with us..... laugh.

When I tried to download your movie it wasn't connecting me to the right movie! I don't know why. Anyway, I'm going to talk about the first part of the quote because I like that part the best. "One see clearly only with the heart." I think that's true. Sometimes we over think things or try to make stuff logical. Love isn't logical. Sometimes you just have to follow your heart even if it doesn't make sense and even if we end up getting hurt. Our heart is one of human's best qualities. Sometimes finding happiness means thinking with your heart, not your head.
