The EarthKind® Environmental Landscape Management System was developed by horticulture specialists at Texas AgriLife Extension Service in 1993. Its mission is to provide citizens with cutting-edge, research-based information regarding environmental stewardship for the ornamental landscape. Goals of the EarthKind® program include; reducing landscape water, fertilizer, and pesticide use and reducing yard wastes entering landfills through composting and use of such materials as organic mulches. Areas within the EarthKind® program where research has been especially focused include choosing the most adaptable plants for particular sites.
Please join us on Monday, July 1 at 10:00 am to view several roses that are well adapted to our region.
