I'd like to look at electronics in music. Synthesizers; use in live music, recording, writing software, etc.

I'm interested in doing a presentation on the cinema, I guess I'd like to look at the technology that facilitates the kind of movie you can rent from netflix. you know, projectors, screens, film, motion picture, that kind of thing.

I would like to do a presentation on the revolution of cell phones. Why they were created and how they have branched into other uses such as cameras, music players and organizers.

I was thinking about presenting about the pros and cons of using email. I think it is invaluable tool and yet it could be eroding our social skills among other pitfalls.

I've thought about the Global Positioning System (GPS) and satellite technology:
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» i don't think they had control of the plane
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» that particular place has an emergency parachute; but, given the nature of that tourist flight path, they weren't at a feasible altitude
«Anonymous Airline Pilot» like i said, i just heard bits and pieces...when you're flying into a large city like NYC, its easy to get lost...perhaps the pilots' instrument control went out and he didnt know where he was
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» particular plane*
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» a mechanical failure of the flight control surfaces... the plane took a dive to the left and took a random target
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» thats my theory
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» I'm still waiting for a federal response to my question: Can you prove to me no planes have been or ever can be electronically hijacked
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» a punk kid with a laptop in first-class takes control of the plane playing MS Flight Simulator
«Anonymous Airline Pilot» aircraft with auto-pilot can theoretically be electronically hijacked
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» oh really?
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» aircraft maintenance facilities in foreign countries
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» `theoretically` leads me to think about doubting with reasonable suspicion
«Anonymous Airline Pilot» auto-pilot is a simple computer that directs the plane from point A to point B...although pilots can override auto-pilot in an emergency, technically, one could program the unit to be "confused" and the plane will go wherever it wants to
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» or a GPS receiver antenna being intercepted and feeding the plane `manipulated` coordinates
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» the plane thinks it's going off course, so it adjusts
«Anonymous Airline Pilot» correct
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» hold a model plan still and move the model set around it
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» model plane*
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» stationary plane, moveable globe.... Google Earth, anyone?
«David J. Delong-Riviera III» I sent my theory to Interpol and the United Nations... think anyone noticed?
«Anonymous Airline Pilot» also, autopilot can completely cut off control of the rudder (vertical stabilizer) and then you're basically (in laymans terms)...fucked
«nitrojett» but commercial aircraft are unlikely to go off course, (unless you have to enter a holding pattern) any control tower can shut off auto and in a worst case senerio, contact the airforce to shoot the plane down (this is, of course, post 9-11)

I think its good to have communication skills as a topic. Everyone needs it to be successful in presentations and in any business that they do as well. They can deal with other people more easily if they have good communication skills.
Even in the virtual world, communication skills is very useful since there are limitations. Like in emails or instant messaging, you need your communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and avoid conflicts and misunderstandings with others.
