i'm sure we have all seen advertisements on tv, the internet, in magazines, or on billboards that depict women as an object of sex. this happens not only in advertising but in the music and movie industries as well.
advertisers use female sexuality to sell their products. this has been happening more and more and the years go on. i personally haven’t seen many males being depicted as sexual objects in the media. this exploitation of the female body and sexuality has gotten out of hand.
how many music videos have you seen where women are prancing around in some scantily clad outfit, often a barely-there swimsuit? yeah that’s pretty much the theme to most music videos i’ve seen.
i know there are some female performers out there that express the same feelings towards the male sex. but for the most part women have been used as objects of males sexual desires.
i know sex sells. but i think in some cases we have taken it a bit too far. im not a prude or anything but somethings i see are just plain degrading.

I want to see heroines without the overt sex appeal. Why can't we get many intellectual awesome dynamic women in the media that maybe aren't filling a traditional male role. How about an intelligent hardworking stay at home mom who has her own projects and ambitions that maybe aren't about getting more money and power in society? Or maybe a medical drama with a nurse or group of nurses as the main characters instead of doctors. Why don't we see any of these things in the media?

And let me tell you something some of the women who star in these videos are just literally poor women who can't even afford food and must exploit themselves for money and even though this is not right who the hell are you to judge women in general for the decisions that only some of them have chosen? Society pushes women and men to corners where sometimes they feel obligated to make degrading and even life taking decisions in order to pay the bills.
