Can we only comment on this blog?

Well, I was wondering what people thought about what was brought up in today's lecture. Namely, the religious organization that excludes homosexuals and is still recognized by the University even though they pratice discrimination. I think that the University should not have settled. The University shouldn't be a place for discrimination of any kind, and religious excuses are just that - mere excuses.

Also, I thought the discussion of homophobia was interesting. I think that -phobias should be reserved for individualized fear. A "homophobic" has different reactions to being in the presence of a homosexual than, say, an agoraphobic (sp?)has around spiders. It should be given an -ism, like rascism or something.

From and academic point of view, decimation has on place at all. From a religious point of view it does not as well. The object of discrimination is universal and has no bounds to religion or education. It sees no color of skin or sexual preference but sees all. It goes as far and to turn on religion it self pitting one religion against another. In the total perception of discrimination it is not in to a university or in a religion, but rather in the hearts of men. It is conceived by fear and misunderstanding and is birthed in violence and hatred. So instead of pointy and accusing finger towered one thing or another. Understand that it is not the thing, but rather men finding hate that makes discrimination. The best way to defeat heat is with love. And besides looking inward, we can all see our own discrimination's.

I don't think religious opinion on homosexuality is wrong. Homosexuality is a mental disorder. Yes, it exists, that doesn't mean it should be permitted. There are many mental "phobia" that exist. The comment near the top of this page about religious discrimination and homophobia really caught my attention. It seems to me that many faiths and sects that call themselves a Christian organization are NOT as accepting of others as Jesus was.

There is a comment about getting ranking. Yes it is tough and it is where your hard work is needed to succeed in online business. Don't let information overload to hinder your initiative. In the beginning don't spend too much on getting information. Also don't think to start only after master minding everything. Practically it is not possible. Learn some thing and take the initiative to start your own business. Learn during the process of development.

There are a lot of interesting comments here. I happen to agree with Vincent from July 31 who said that a woman can empower herself through independent financial means.

That is so true. In fact, money is empowerment. Without we are reliant on the kindness of others whether we are women or men. So becoming fiscally sound is crucial. And of course what will help with that is getting equal pay for women too!

We as a global community need to understand that women and men although normally excel in different areas can achieve the same goals. Approaches may have to be different. Take non-traditional trades as an example. A woman who is not as physically strong a male counter part may make use of tools to gain mechanical advantage.

Society should not dictate personal career goals. If you wish to work at something out of the norm. figure out a way to do it.

I agree with a lot of the comments above. It's a beautiful thing to see when people become liberated from past oppressions. When once upon a time women couldnt vote ect, got paid unequal salaries. It's through the tireless devotion and tireless persistence of brave women that brought about changes that made this world a better place. I take my hat off to this women. In 'a mans world' they did what they had to, in order to become equals. Today I think they have pretty much succeeded. Congratulations :D

There is sex in politics and business as well. It can bring down the house, but if channeled properly can be energizing (and not giving into the physical aspects).

One of the things i really like about blog posts is which they provoke or spark a thought at my head. Once that happens, I feel like making it very comment hoping it's helpful to others. If we do not learn to see each other having something in common and still persist in seeing differences, doom is never far away lying in wait.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

I see discrimination as the perpetrator's 'ammunition' to use against another they perceive as of lesser standing. It's one thing for the person to have the feelings based on learned prejudices, but an moral and tolerant person will realize that the perceptions and prejudices are or may be unfair and refrain upon acting upon or speaking about them. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.
