Posted by: Rachel at January 28, 2005 11:44 AMCan we only comment on this blog?
Well, I was wondering what people thought about what was brought up in today's lecture. Namely, the religious organization that excludes homosexuals and is still recognized by the University even though they pratice discrimination. I think that the University should not have settled. The University shouldn't be a place for discrimination of any kind, and religious excuses are just that - mere excuses.
Also, I thought the discussion of homophobia was interesting. I think that -phobias should be reserved for individualized fear. A "homophobic" has different reactions to being in the presence of a homosexual than, say, an agoraphobic (sp?)has around spiders. It should be given an -ism, like rascism or something.
thoughts?......

In these trying economic times you will find more and more people looking towards the internet for an alternate source of income but one must be aware that the competition is great. Posted by: Phill at Enable Business Finance at July 27, 2010 12:01 AMThe discussion has wondered has it not?
Politics is alive and well in the midst of discrimination no matter what offended party one may be seen as.
McClain
Posted by: McClain @ In2OnlineHelp.com at July 27, 2010 2:27 AMFrom and academic point of view, decimation has on place at all. From a religious point of view it does not as well. The object of discrimination is universal and has no bounds to religion or education. It sees no color of skin or sexual preference but sees all. It goes as far and to turn on religion it self pitting one religion against another. In the total perception of discrimination it is not in to a university or in a religion, but rather in the hearts of men. It is conceived by fear and misunderstanding and is birthed in violence and hatred. So instead of pointy and accusing finger towered one thing or another. Understand that it is not the thing, but rather men finding hate that makes discrimination. The best way to defeat heat is with love. And besides looking inward, we can all see our own discrimination's.
Posted by: Christian Biker at July 27, 2010 11:02 AMThats a good point about homophobia. It is wrong to compare it to any other phobia as it more of a dislike than a fear.
Posted by: Resell Rights Guy at July 27, 2010 2:13 PMI agree... I don't think schools, universities, have any right in being judgmental on sexual preferences and discriminate on the subject.

Posted by: Sheila at July 30, 2010 10:19 PMOne of the best things a woman can do to empower herself is to free herself financially. To do that there is no better way than to create a new business.
Today beginning a business requires that you do so online, or at the very least include a significant online component.
I teach people how to leverage two of the most powerful economic models in existence, namely internet marketing and network marketing. If you have an inbred dislike for network marketing based on old school promotion models such as home meetings and bugging your friends and family to join your company, you need to forget all of that. Tha tmodel is largely dead.
The Internet makes a totally new model available, and the fact is almost anyone can succeed as an online netwrok marketer if they take the time to learn how it is done.
I offer a completely free training course on this subject, which you can download from my site.

Hi Rachel
I don't think religious opinion on homosexuality is wrong. Homosexuality is a mental disorder. Yes, it exists, that doesn't mean it should be permitted. There are many mental "phobia" that exist. We do not welcome them rather treat them medically. Homosexuality must be treated same way. Sorry to differ.

That is so true. In fact, money is empowerment. Without we are reliant on the kindness of others whether we are women or men. So becoming fiscally sound is crucial. And of course what will help with that is getting equal pay for women too!

Posted by: duracell mygrid at December 8, 2010 12:13 AMI completely agree that an educational institute should NOT discriminate in any case. Religion is also not an excuse. Though people can have various religious beliefs and along with it, the values they teach (homosexual, homophobia, etc), an education system ought to separate itself from any bias and siding with these values as education by itself ought to NOT discriminate.
Education is knowledge for the soul, and that knowledge shouldn't bring along a price tag that differentiates people.

I agree with a lot of the comments above. It's a beautiful thing to see when people become liberated from past oppressions. When once upon a time women couldnt vote ect, got paid unequal salaries. It's through the tireless devotion and tireless persistence of brave women that brought about changes that made this world a better place. I take my hat off to this women. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Posted by: Egyptian Magic Cream at March 28, 2011 7:44 PMI see discrimination as the perpetrator's 'ammunition' to use against another they perceive as of lesser standing. I believe we all have our prejudices built upon personal experiences, but it's how we choose to (or choose not to) act on them that matters.

If the changes, it will somewhat negate this advantage for that Zune, however the 10 tunes monthly it's still a large also in Zune Pass' favor.

Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

Posted by: computer laptop at October 3, 2011 12:40 PMThere's an city legend that over thirty percent of all kids are not born of their appointed father; rather, they're the merchandise of adultery. Because of this long-standing myth, the thought of a paternity check continues to be a persistent 1 in the minds from the public. Right here, we'll explain what a paternity check actually is and answer inquiries on how it operates to prove who fathered the child.
Why A Paternity Test:
Some query why this check is named a 'paternity'. The solution is really basic: unless of course the mother was impregnated by way of an egg donation, it is apparent that she is the mom. The father, even so, might be anyone--that is why young children are examined towards his DNA and never hers.
How Does A Paternity Test Function:
Though there are other strategies, DNA testing will be the easiest--and most effective--way to test a child for paternity.
DNA is unique for each person but, when sexual reproduction happens, an embryo is developed. That embryo is shaped by taking genetic materials from each mothers and fathers to create a brand new string of DNA.
To demonstrate who is the father, one only has to appear in the child's DNA pattern. In it, you'll find proof of the father's distinctive traits. Certain sequences is going to be accessible, and these will prove whose characteristics passed on.
Can be a Paternity Test Correct:
Sure. Unless the case involves a twin brother, DNA need to easily be able to tell who fathered the youngster. The check is correct.
Is a Paternity Check Necessary:
This will be the gray area in the subject. A father's correct to understand if a kid is his is just not questioned; what's questioned, even so, is the outcomes around the kid. Usually, situations of fathers seeking parental rights to children who have with their moms and an additional guy who they look at as their father surface area. These circumstances are lengthy, drawn-out battles of basic parental rights versus simple youngster welfare. The father may possibly argue that, given that it was he who actually produced the child, he really should have the best to be existing in his or her lifestyle. Other people would argue, nonetheless, that a kid in a stable property should not be pressured to have two fathers and, for that reason, two lives.
It's this heated debate which has divided a lot of, and left the rest unsure. Every single case is distinct and must be examined as distinctive, which makes setting precedent nearly not possible.
To have a paternity test is always to open up a fantastic deal of consequences--not only for the child, but for your mother and father. It's not a basic issue, or 1 that should be made a decision too speedily. These tests may possibly be taken without consent, but there is a law inside the United kingdom which is demanding that no test be given with out the express information of all involved. This is always to protect families.
A paternity check is definitely an powerful strategy to find out who fathered a child, but it may also be an effective method to trigger a kid grief. It must be approached with caution.

Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
