Don't Lose Contact After Graduation Everyone!
Finals are finally over. You will never have to worry about that statistics class again. Your room is packed. You are loading up your car and you look over at the building you called home for the last four years. A sad feeling starts to roll over you… Will I ever see my friends again? Friends that had become my family were now leaving for the four corners of the world. You are sure going to miss them.
You made sure you got all their addresses and phone numbers but a fear is in the back of your mind that you will lose touch with them. You have to make sure it doesn’t happen. You just have too much history together.
One of the best ways to stay in contact is through letter writing or holiday cards. Email is great but tends to be a little impersonal. It will be too easy to make a list of contacts and send a group mailing to your friends. Eventually their individuality will fade. You will lose that close feeling that you once had.
Start writing letters. Write real letters or cards that arrive at their mailbox. They will feel so special that you remembered them enough to write a letter. And make sure at the holiday season you send cards to them. Include personal notes inside to keep them updated on all your activities.
When you send holiday cards pay special attention to the card itself. You could order cards online with imprinting. The selection is huge and their price is usually less expensive that your local greeting card store.
Try to find a card that represents your personality. If you were golf nut in college, try and find a card with a golf theme. This will make them laugh and take them back to the goods times you spent together.
Throughout the years your contact with one another may dwindle to only holiday cards. This makes it even more important that you don’t discontinue this practice. Take the time each holiday to make sure that you send each one a card. Add a personal note letting them know that even through the years they are still important to you. You could add family photos to show how you and your family are growing.
It is so important that you don’t lose contact with all these great friends you made in college. They are the only ones who knew you when… Christmas cards, Holiday cards or any type of greeting cards are a great way to continue your relationship.
