If
anybody is interested in taking any breaks from the university, can I definitely
recommend a holiday to
Germany. If you´re studying German or
interested in the German language, I have discovered the perfect place to learn
German and also to learn golf. In the small town of
Gut Ising
buried deep in the hills of Bavaria
a small place with a beautiful hotel and a great golf course and one of the
biggest and best golf shops I´ve ever seen.
The hotel is a secret to many people in
Germany. The hotel is a four star and has
everything from wellness to horse riding with indoor and outdoor tennis, they
have a tennis school a riding school and of course a great golf school to go
with the Championship golf
course.
Obviously the best place to learn German is
Germany. I can only recommend, that extended
vacation from the college between 4 to 6 weeks would be very well spent in Germany.
The golfshop
is well known within Germany
and unbelievably from the small town in Bavaria
with less than a hundred inhabitants has grown to become the biggest onlineshop
to do with golf in Europe. The internetadress
is http://www.golfakademie-gmbh.de
. The golf school offers
golf courses every
week mostly dealing with beginners, but also offering computer assisted lessons
and has one of the modernist computer
custom
fitting systems in Europe. The golf lessons
mostly take place in the morning, so that one has time for the family or time to
do different things apart from golf. However if you want you would have more
than enough to do if you only wanted to play golf.
Gut Ising is situated only a few kilometres from
lake
Chiemsee.
Chiemsee is one of the famous naturist areas in Germany. The wildlife is amazing
and there are many things to do and to see. There is a beautiful but
unfortunately unfinished castle. The castle was built by King Ludwig II and was
based on the French castle in
Versailles. Many people believe, that if the castle had
ever been finished would have been even better than
Versailles. The Chiemsee itself with its amazingly calm
water is a very good possibility to learn or to sail.
Back to golf there are nine golf courses within 20 kilometers from the
golfhotel, and all the golf
course are all very challenging and very interesting and mostly built to
Championship standards, Salzburg has also got a very nice golf course, designed
from Jack Nicklaus. The golf course with the small fairways and the small
landing areas is very difficult even for the best golfers. Obviously with its
history from Mozart and the other interesting characters who have lived in
Salzburg, Salzburg is a place one can not afford not to
visit.
My holiday to Germany was one of the most interesting times in
my life and I can only advise you all to visit this beautiful area of Bavaria. I will be
visiting Bavaria
once more in the future and I will never forget the time I spent there.
