OIT currently is in the process of replacing more than 1,750 existing diverse and aging wireless hardware on the Twin Cities campus with state of the art technology creating a new, centrally managed network. As of Wednesday, July 16, wireless access point (AP) replacement has been completed on the Twin Cities campus in St. Paul, and work now moves to the East Bank, West Bank, and Rochester campus.
The upgrade is scheduled to continue through summer and fall 2008. The upgrade schedule is updated regularly.
The University's wireless network is centrally managed by OIT, and provides campus affiliates and guests with wireless Internet access across the Twin Cities campus. Visit the U of M Wireless site for more information.
