Black History Month/Youth Essay Contest and Visit ***5 Volunteers needed
We only need 5 More Volunteers for the Black History Month Youth Event on Tuesday, February 24th at the Sports Pavilion from 10:30am to 2:30pm.
If you can only volunteer ONE HOUR, we could use your help.
We will bring approximately 400 to 500 5th and 6th graders to campus from Nokomis Montessori Magnet School and Maxfield Magnet Elementary School in St. Paul and Richard R. Green Central Park School, Harvest Preparatory/Seed Academy and WISE Charter School all in Minneapolis.
We are in need of volunteers for such an event.

If you want to stop by and check out what this program is like please feel
free to do so. If you have some time to volunteer, that would be as
welcomed too.
If you stop by, enter at the south entrance, off of University Ave. Enter
the doors that say, "Daily Entrance" there will be a info table as you walk
into the arena.
Volunteers would do thinks like escort students from station to station,
help serve lunch and be available for any questions.

8:45am Arrival to U of M (Northrup Auditorium)
8:45-9:00 - Travel to Classroom Space - Physics 150
9:00-9:15 - University Welcome
9:15-10:15 - College is Cool Activities and Videos that share the
discoveries that have been made at the University of Minnesota.
10:15-10:30- Restroom Break
10:30 - 11:30 - Part A: Discover the U Scavenger Hunt (Self Guided in
groups of 10
students to one teacher)
11:30 - 12:15 - Lunch at the Marketplace Dining Center
12:15 - 12:30 - Travel to Classroom Space - Physics 150
12:30 - 1:30 - Part B: Goldy's Game Show
1:30-1:50 - Part C: Questions and Answers with College students, staff and
faculty
1:50-2:00 - Travel to Northrop Steps for photo
2:00-2:10 - Group Photo at the Steps of Northrop
2:10-2:20 - Loading of Buses
2:20 - Departure from Northrop Auditorium
