I have been working on chapter edits for my dissertation off and on for awhile. It's hard to "let go" and not be fussing with more editing, but last night I printed out chapter 3: "stick a fork in it; it's done."
I have it on my desk, all printed and paper-clipped, ready for making copies. It's a nice little boost, and as I add to the stack, each new clump of paper will feel like a mini-achievement. (Yeah, I'm killing trees, but my committee wants hard copy.)
Chapter 4 should be done today. There are a couple of small points I'm wrestling with still. Chapter 5 is a problem. I thought I could combine two former chapters into a single chapter about resistance to communism but after working on it for an hour or so last night, I'm not so sure. So I put it aside for the moment and went on to Chapter 6, which is very structured and reasonably easy to fix up.
