A Minneapolis man was charged with second degree felony assault after tossing battery acid in his ex-girlfriend's face according to an article in the Star Tribune.
Jarso Yohannes Adem, 28, approached the victim in St. Louis Park on her way home from school Tuesday. A City Pages blogger reported that the suspect had been planning the attack for several days and waited to ambush her. An online report from Kare 11 said the acid was from a car battery Adem purchased a few days before the attack.

The victim's name and age have not been released but the police told the Star Tribune that the woman had been in a relationship with Adem recently.
