I find it interesting that even though these two articles have stark differences in opinion they are both more similar than what they may seem. One is about innovation in technology and the other is about looking to nature for the answers, however both of these articles and opinions are talking about how to make progress and keep moving forward in this world. The way I kind of view it is that you can't have one without the other; no technological advance came without nature and every advancement we have achieved from nature has been achieved with the help of technology. The reason why I say this is because before a technological advancement happens it must first be thought of, and the thought is a natural occurrence. No thought or idea came from a machine so in that very simple form technology depends on nature. But besides that a lot of technological advancements come from ideas found in nature whether we realize it or not because these machines must operate under the laws of nature, like gravity and such. And looking at it the other way, natural discoveries are very dependent on technological advancements too. These days everything uses machines and gadgets which help us find advancement in nature, and without these pieces of technology we would have never discovered these elements on nature. Like, for example, our recent discoveries of life under the sea. They say that we have only scratched the surface about what there is to find in the ocean, but without technology like submarines, scuba diving equipment and things like that, we would far less about what is under the sea then we do now. And without the technology of airplanes and flying devices we would hardly know what was above the sky much less actually have someone walk on the moon. So a lot of the natural discoveries that we have taken advantage of, a lot of those things wouldn't have been possible without technology. So in conclusion I guess, I think it is a little ridiculous to say we can make advancements with only nature or only technology because they are so intertwined with each other. Using our minds is probably the biggest natural discovery in the history of the world, and it has been so effective that it created technology. And we created technology so we could discover even more natural things that we could otherwise never find.
