What I will remember

I have learned so much this semester in psychology that hopefully I will remember everything, especially since psychology is such an interesting topic and things that have to do with your everyday life. But if I had to choose one concept that I will definitely remember forever it would be from Chapter 12, Stress, coping and health. I have really bad anxiety problems so I can really relate to this topic. Of course I have researched a lot about anxiety and stress, plus my doctor has told me many things but after learning about it in psychology it really taught me the most i'm ever going to know. I can now see how to deal with stress before a big exam etc. It also taught me that i'm not completely crazy for being so stressed all the time, and it happens to people just as much as it happens to me, even worse. So i know for the rest of my life I will think back to this semester of psychology and remember how to deal with all of my stress and anxiety.

I can completely relate to you. I have a lot of stress caused by multiple things. It can be hard to cope and understand what stress and anxiety is. The knowledge that I learned about stress will also be something that I will remember because it is so prevalent in my life and really, in any students life. Stress and anxiety can be crippling, but at the same time, it can keep us at the top of our game. Sometimes we need to feel down in order to have that push to make things right and be happy.

I agree, I think anything that doesn't present with visible symptoms sometimes gets labeled as "It's all in your head" and I completely disagree with that notion.

Knowing how to cope with stress before a big exam, while trying to pay off debts, while working for that promotion at work; knowing how to cope with stress is an immensely beneficial ability. If you apply what we learned about stress in the book, you would even be able to provide advice for others who have difficulties with stress.

I agree. That chapter was very helpful. I liked how it emphasized that everyone experiences stress, but many of us can recover from it. It says that we are resilient. That made me hopeful. I too have a lot of stress issues, have scored quite high on the 43 stressful life events scale. But there are many ways of coping so I am not worried.
