Everyone is different

Something that we learned this semester in Psychology 1001 that will stick with me for a long time is the personality section. It was not only interesting to learn about, but completely true. I especially enjoyed the vacation activity we were given in our discussion and how we were separated by our personality types. It was really funny and interesting to see how the different groups planned their vacations and how they presented them to the class. I noticed right away when my group started speaking that we were the high extraversion and low conscientiousness group. Then when we had to present it to the class we all started talking loudly and were excited and added humor into the whole trip. The other groups were funny to watch because they were more quiet and carefully planned. I've always known I have a more outgoing and loud personality but it was most interesting to me to see the others that were classified in my personality group and see the people that didn't fit in mine. Overall, I will remember that discussion and activity for a very long time. It was fun, interesting, and really showed how everyone is different in so many ways.

I think the personality discussion is the best of this whole semester. When I was doing the questionnaire, I knew it was about extroversion and consciousness. But I was so surprised by the differences of each group. I was in the low extroversion and high consciousness group. The two groups with extrovert people started to talk right after they could, but our group was quiet. We then searched online and got very detailed plan. We had agenda for each day and we discussed how would we do if we could not reach a consensus. I knew people are different but I never realized that the difference is HUGE.

This was definitely my favorite discussion class of the semester. It was really interesting seeing which people were put in the different personality types. Especially since personally, my original group was all split up into different groups. I really feel like I was put into the right group.

This was one of my favorite topics of the semester. I really enjoyed finding out who was in my "highly extroverted and highly conscientious" group. I found it really interesting that both the groups that scored high on the extrovertedness scale talked over each other and had a lot of people tried to take control. On the other hand, the groups that were low on the extrovertedness scale seemed more quiet and usually had one leader. The fact that such a simple test could so accurately measure our personalities was astonishing.

I was in the same boat in our discussion section. We were the high extroversion and low conscientious. We ended up running out of time because we were all busy trying to make it the most open ended vacation and we forget all the safety issues that we may have remembered if we had a few conscientious people in our group.

Interesting post, I also thought about the same topic for my wrap-up blog. The class discussion was one of my favorite, it was interesting to see how everybody split up into personality types. But it is also interesting to think about how even the people in the same personality group are far different from one another.
