What you should know about the MURPs!
On behalf of the Masters in Urban/Regional Planning (MURP) students at the Humphrey Institute, let me welcome the incoming students. You will find the MURPs are a close knit and down to earth bunch. We have a great crew and they really know what is going on in the world of planning. The planning students even have their own organization. For general information about Humphrey, Renee's message would be a great one to read. That can give you a lot of information about being at the Humphrey Institute.
The faculty are great too. They are really easy to get ahold of and go out of their way to help us out. Carissa Schively and Ed Goetz are the main faculty for the MURP program. I strongly suggest getting involved with the APA (American Planning Association) if you are a planner or are interested in planning issues. It is the professional planning assocation. In case you haven't heard, there are several concentrations within the MURP core(community development, economic development, transportation, land use, environmental planning) for MURPs.
One suggestions about being at Humphrey: Meet as many people as possible (here and outside in the real world)

"Meet as many people as possible (here and outside in the real world)"
I like the difference between Humphrey and the "real world" ;)
