As promised during my campaign, sustainable computing practices were going to be a high priority during my tenure as Technology Officer. One of my first accomplishments is successfully enabling duplex printing on all HHH student computers. This initiative was recommended and supported by many students here at the Humphrey. Duplex printing can save countless sheets of paper from being produced as well as saving a considerable amount of paper-waste. I hope everyone else shares my excitement on this accomplishment.
This also brings me to another exciting opportunity for PASA as well as Humphrey students. The University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment is providing a one-time funding opportunity for student projects related to sustainability and environmental issues. Detailed information can be found here. PASA is welcoming student feedback on possible projects. Our goal is to submit a proposal that is both community oriented and innovative. Feel free to contact me (Dan Craigie) or Matt Henry, VP of PASA. Student support and suggestions will ensure a unique project!
