HHMI Teaching Fellows: Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity
The College of Biological Sciences recently received an Undergraduate Science Education Grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. This grant includes funding for eight postdoctoral HHMI Teaching Fellow positions over the next four years. We are currently accepting applications for the first two of these positions.
HHMI Teaching Fellows will work closely with both a scientific mentor and a teaching mentor to help them translate their research interests into innovative teaching and related educational research. An emphasis of the projects will be to incorporate research experiences into the curriculum for transfer students and non-science majors. Preference in selection for HHMI Teaching Fellow positions will be given to individuals with broadly-defined interests in biotechnology, genomics, and/or metagenomics. Each HHMI Teaching Fellow may receive up to 2 years of full-time support, but may be able to spread this support across multiple years. Positions may start as early as November 1, 2010.
Please contact Michael Sadowsky (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Rob Brooker (email@example.com) for more information.
Application materials should be submitted through the U of M Office of Human Resources website at https://employment.umn.edu/applicants/jsp/shared/Welcome_css.jsp. The Requisition Number is 169019.
