Science Judges and Volunteers Needed

MN Academy of Science : Science Judges and Volunteers Needed
============================================================

Join us to encourage the next generation of Scientists!

The Minnesota Academy of Science is hosting the 2011 State Science and
Engineering Fair, at the Sheraton Hotel in Bloomington, Saturday-Tuesday
March 19-22.

Your help is needed!

We need Judges - Scientists with experience, interest and a desire to mentor
students in all scientific disciplines are needed to judge independent
student research projects and presentations.

We also need volunteers to help work throughout the four day event.

Sign up online at http://www.fair.mnmas.org/Volunteers/sfVolunteers.asp
http://www.fair.mnmas.org/Volunteers/sfVolunteers.asp

Students present their original research and are evaluated on four criteria:
the process of science; effectiveness of communication; context of the
project and their scope of understanding. Projects and Oral Presentations
are presented in ALL scientific disciplines, so no matter your background,
you can help out!

Project Competition is on Monday, March 21. Oral Presentation Judging occurs
on March 19 (for High School papers) and March 20 (for Middle School
papers). More information can be found online in the registration process.

Besides being fun and interesting, you will get the chance to network with
other scientists both in your area and in other areas of interest to you.

There are two ways to register:

1. You may either register yourself online at

http://www.fair.mnmas.org/Volunteers/sfVolunteers.asp
http://www.fair.mnmas.org/Volunteers/sfVolunteers.asp

2. You can email the judges coordinator at
Judge@mnmas.org.

Thanks for your help in encouraging STEM in Minnesota!
