Boundy Changes for Farmington School District

Both the Star Tribune and Twincities.com had stories on the Farmington school district boundaries changing. Both sources said there will be a vote to determine the specific boundaries next week. The Pioneer Press said a new Farmington High School will be constructed for next year causing the new boundaries. They also discuss further changes as the old high school building will become a middle school and the old middle school will become an elementary school. Grades will be divided differently within these schools as well causing separation between students and friends.

TwinCities.com said the purpose of these boundary changes is to keep neighborhoods together, to promote stability in growth and to maximize efficiency in transportation and building space. The meeting will take place next Monday at 6 p.m. at the Farmington High School Little Theater.
