| A similar dilemma confronts me this year: To blog or not to blog about Kwanzaa? And similar to last year, I'll let you all decide. As another option to the ones presented below, I have been coming across many Kwanzaa books, both for children and adults--many more books than in years past. I could review some of these. I have also stumbled across some wonderful photographs of different folks' celebrations on Flickr. Perhaps if any of these are public/cc licensed, I could share these as well. And I would absolutely LOVE to have some more guest bloggers. Anyway, just a few thoughts. By the way, here are my posts from last year. Posts from my first blogging year can be accessed below. I admit: I was hoping to largely slide past Kwanzaa this year. Not that I do not enjoy celebrating it over the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. But I have been so busy lately and feel so behind due to my travel schedule this fall that I was thinking we'd probably go "low key" for that celebration.
But the other day one of my daughters mentioned how excited she was to put out all the Kwanzaa decorations along with our Christmas decorations, then the other daughter piped up, "So what are we gonna do special for Kwanzaa this year?"
Soooo...I guess Kwanzaa is back on our holiday calendar.
That still leaves the question: Ought I blog about Kwanzaa this year, similar to my posts last year? (See the posts in the "Kwanzaa 2004" category.) What do you think? I'll make this a "Back (or Not Back) By Popular Demand" decision. Was last year's series informative, entertaining? Would you like to (a) know more scholarly-type info on Kwanzaa, (b) hear some more about my family's observance, (c) read about my personal reflections on the celebration, (d) none of the above?
Or maybe you'd like to volunteer to be a "guest blogger" here on SITBB and share your own thoughts/experiences with Kwanzaa. Now that would be exciting--I've never hosted guest bloggers before...
Anyway, let me know: Comment here, drop me an email, or if you're here at the U stop me in the halls...
