Just to follow up on a story I posted about here in April: 18 year old Kiri Davis' wonderful film "A Girl Like Me" has won the Cosmo Girl "Take Action Hollywood Film Contest! A quick google and I see that she also won the "Diversity Award" in the 6th annual Media Matters film festival.
By the way, the original "Doll Test" referenced in Davis' piece is a huge interest of mine that I hope to blog about at some point. In the meantime, learn more about this pioneering work of Drs. Mamie and Kenneth Clark here:
