International Conference on Adoption Research (UPDATE)

icar2small.jpg ***UPDATE: The program (or, as the Brits say, "programme"!) and other conference updates are now on-line. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend. (I am on Dissertation House Arrest until further notice.) But MTARP will be well represented!***

I am very excited to pass along that plans are well underway for the Second International Conference on Adoption Research:

The goal of the conference is to bring together the worldwide, multidisciplinary community of distinguished and emerging adoption researchers, to enable sharing of research findings and to encourage interaction and debate about the future research agenda. Conference participants will be drawn from a wide range of disciplines such as psychology, psychiatry, sociology, anthropology, social work, history, social policy and law. The number of conference attendees will be limited to 120, to maximise interaction and retain focus and preference will be given to those undertaking adoption research.

It will be held 17-21 July 2006, hosted by the University of East Anglia, Norwich, United Kingdom. The first ICAR was in Minneapolis, and was my first introduction to research as a brand spanking new University of Minnesota graduate student. I'm looking forward to this next one!
