Listing Agent

Because of this blog's title, I frequently get visitors here as a result of searches for lists of things: "six nutritious things to eat for breakfast," "should I exercise before breakfast," "things that are impossible for humans to do," etc. I always wonder if these folks arriving at SITBB are disappointed upon landing here and finding no answers to their request for such lists. But then it occurred to me--I could write a post where I provide my opinions on two of the most popular of these search phrases. So here they are. Please feel free to offer your own suggestions as well!

"Six Things to Do Before College Graduation"

1) PAY ALL YOUR LIBRARY FINES
2) Buy a nice suit or other outfit that is appropriate for job interviews
3) Get rid of your college textbooks (You likely will never use them again and they are too cumbersome to pack and move)
4) Drop a prof a line who has made a difference in your college career and thank her or him
5) Destroy any incriminating information/materials you may have about any ex-es, and get back any incriminating information/materials any ex-es may have on you
6) Sign up with your alumni office

"Six Things To Do Before Turning 30"

1) Fall in love
2) Purchase at least one piece of furniture that does not involve self-assembly
3) Open up a savings account and actually keep a balance in it
4) Travel to at least one place where every body else does not look and sound like you
5) Forgive someone you have been blaming for something
6) Ask someone who you have wronged to forgive you

These are great lists!! I'm afraid I can't think of other things for the first one, but for the second... Oh, I don't know, your are great! I did a lot of things before 30, like getting married, moving to another country, backpacking in Europe... and then I had a kid before I turned 31. :)

No birthday party with a prince theme in the background? I guess your memory isn't that great after all. I just want to know, what if you are looking at 40, without your 30 list done - does that make you a real slacker? It is rhetorical, it is, it is.

"Six Things To Do Before Going On Vacation"

1. Triple check that you have not left your passports in your safety deposit at the bank which is closed on the day you have to leave.

2. Remember to take your dog to the pet sitters instead of getting a phone call from 1000 miles away with complaints about your barking dog.

3. Make sure you have packed your new swimsuit, the one that 'hides' rather than 'reveals' your curves.

4. Tell your boss you are going on vacation (oops)

5. Put ALL your luggage in the car so that you don't forget that special bag with all your underwear at home.

6. Remember to bring film for your 35mm camera cause your husband is too cheap to buy a new digital once cause 'this one works perfectly fine'.

You were quite accomplished by 30, I'd say, Lilian! What's on your next milestone list? (Besides that big obvious one, that is. LOL)

Hi Aimee!! Hey, no airing my personal info on the blog! (Kidding!) I'd say you've done a lot too. These are, of course, my own ideas. If you've yet to meet your own milestones, the great thing is you are in charge of (a) getting your butt moving, (b) adapting your expectations, (c) both.

Arjan--FUNNY! Yes, I think "falling in love" should be on everyone's before-30 list. So get out there and open your heart! Remember, it need not be a permanent love-type situation. Just something to check off your list. LOL

Marcy, sounds like you speak from experience with your great list. I will keep all that in mind when I go one vacation later this summer--so, THANKS!

Hey perry, just stumbled on this blog entry & found this interesting

Nice list(before 30)
I gathered a similar list & i do keep striking things i did.

You can try growing your list from six to unsix & keep striking out things you already did.

:)
