Someone asked me once why I do not participate in the blogosphere-wide Friday Poetry Blogging. I love poetry (for example, I used to be a member of Purdue's Black Cultural Center's Haraka Writers). And I blog. So why not combine the two. Well, I am happy to use today to finally jump into the FPB pool.

& while ur standing there
i take ur underwear
OK, OK. It's not so much poetry as it is playground chant. My kids picked this up from one of the camps they've been to this summer and for some strange reason it thrilled me that something from my own childhood has survived to their own.
Plus, this is the best I can do in my present busy state. But I think I deserve some credit for the small creative effort I put into this, what with the phrasing and the stylistic Prince-esque spellings...

That's fun! I've considered participating of the Friday poetry, but I never did, I can't really discipline myself to do something every week... (terrible, I know).
