The body of a New York mother and photographer was found early Sunday by Turkish police after she had gone missing earlier in January. Sarai Sierra's body was found Saturday evening, police said, according to NBC News.
Sierra traveled alone on Jan. 7 to Turkey to take pictures. Her husband said she kept in touch with him and their two children while in Turkey, but didn't arrive home as planned Jan. 21, NBC News reported.
Police said Sierra's body showed two signs of stab wounds and they believe the cause of her death was a shot to the head, according to CNN. Police said they have taken 15 people into questioning regarding the shooting, NBC reported.
