Leads Analysis

The Huffington Post article about a mother giving her daughter drugs has a fairly standard hard news lead. The lead includes who, what, and where, and is interesting enough to catch the readers eye.
The lead uses "Minnesota mom" which describes who this story is about and essentially gives readers an idea of where. This lead also describes what is happening, she gave her daughter heroin and marijuana causing her daughter withdrawal symptoms. This what aspect is what catches the readers attention. Minnesota mom is a general statement and what she did is detailed.
One thing I think could be better in the lead is the beginning. Instead of starting with "Cops say" the lead could have began with, "Minnesota mom" and attributed to the police at the end of the lead.
