Speech report analysis

In their article about Gov. Dayton's speech, CBS followed many of the speech coverage guidelines we talked about in class. They use background information, main points of the speech, quotes from Dayton, and quotes from other leaders to deliver the story.
One thing I noticed is that CBS mentioned that Dayton was giving a speech in the lead.
The second paragraph contains information about who Dayton was speaking to and what the main focus of his speech was about. The third paragraph contains a quote from Dayton and the reaction of the audience.
The article's use of other sources and background information helps to show the reader the importance of the speech's content. The use of republican views on the subject helps show readers the contrasted opinions and the information about Dayton's plans summarizes the speech content.
