The Miami Herald's article about sea-rise in South Florida uses an interactive explore map to show sea-level rise projections.

The explore map allows the reader to select a district in South Florida and raise the sea level up to six feet. When you select the number of feet to raise the sea level, the graphic shows which parts of the state would be consumed by the water.

This interactive graphic engages the reader because it puts the problem of sea level rise into perspective. It is helpful for the reader to visualize the effects of the sea level, and it makes the problem more realistic.

In order to do this, the reporter needs to know how to make such a data set on the computer. The reporter also needs to research which parts of the state would be under water, and which parts will not be.

There is also a link to the National Oceanic and Atomspheric Administration map which allows a viewer to see sea level rise in the world, not just the state of Florida. With this map you can read about different areas and see the flood frequency and vulnerability of different places.

Mass transit, schools, and businesses have been shut down in Boston as the search for Tsarnaev, also known as Jahar, continues. Law enforcement officials said they believe he may be strapped with explosives, the Washington Post reported.

The other suspect, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, died Friday in a shootout after the two suspects robbed a 7-eleven store and killed a MIT campus officer, the Washington Post reported.

The suspects were brothers who had been in the U.S. for about a decade, according to their uncle. They were from Dagestan, which is next to Chechnya in southern Russia, the Star Tribune reported.

Authorities in Boston have asked people to stay indoors, and SWAT teams, sharpshooters, and FBI agents surrounded buildings as helicopters search the area, the Star Tribune reported.

The explosion of two bombs near the Boston Marathon finish line killed two people and injured more than 50, according to the Boston Police Department, the Star Tribune reported.

Another bomb exploded several miles away at the John F. Kennedy around 4 p.m., more than an hour after the first two. There were no reported injuries, and police said they are unsure if the incidents are related the Star Tribune reported.

Two other explosive devices were found near the marathon finish line, a senior U.S. intelligence official said. Authorities do not know who may have launched the attack, and Boston police said they were investigating the explosions, the Star Tribune reported.

Eyewitnesses at the marathon, that more than 27,000 runners from 56 different countries participated in, said the two explosions were about 15 seconds apart, the New York Times reported.

The blasts occurred about 300 yards from the finish line, and workers from the medical tent and volunteers rushed to help the wounded, the Washington Post reported.

A news feature written about Muslims that intermarry in the Washington Post moves beyond stereotypes, and gives readers information about Muslims who have moved to America.

The article says, "when it comes to intermarriage, Muslims are becoming the new Jews." It explains how a century ago, Jews were immigrating to the United States and rarely married outside of their religion. The article says about 30 percent of Jews are married to a non-Jew, and now Muslims are beginning to marry outside of their faith.

The article confronts the stereotype that Muslims are very religious and only marry people who are of the same faith.

Another stereotype the article proves wrong is that the Muslim immigrants are lower class. It states that American Muslims are, "generally highly educated and well-off."

The Washington Post's article also makes an interesting comparison between evangelical Protestantism and Islam. There is a stereotype that Islam is very different than what American's are familiar with, but the article says people from both religions can say "they were moved by the spirit and they are instantly 'born again'."

The Washington Post uses Heather and Abdullah, an intermarried couple, as a source. The author only used their first names because their families are unfamiliar with their stories.

Steve Mustapha Elturk, an imam in Troy Mich., is also used as a source. He was first married to a Catholic Filipina woman, and then he married a Muslim. He talks about how different the marriages are.

The article also uses Jonathan Sarna, a history professor who has studied intermarriage of religious groups, as a source.

All of the sources provide information on why Muslims do and do not marry outside of their religion. Overall, the article informs readers on the Muslim culture and contradicts many stereotypes related to the Muslim culture.
