Wild snap losing streak
The Minnesota Wild snapped a five game losing streak Saturday with a 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames. The wild got off to an outstanding start early this season, but lately haven't played up to their potential and have watched the losses pile up.
The win over Calgary was even more significant due to the fact that when the two teams faced each other just 10 days earlier, the Wild picked up their first regulation loss by blowing a three-goal lead.
Goalie Niklas Backstrom came back from injury and made 23 saves in the Wilds' win. Brian Rolston got the scoring started in the first period and Marian Gaborik added one in the second and another in the third en route to a three point night. The Wild are 19-0-2 when Gaborik scores three points.
Hopefully the win will rejuvenate the Wild and they will return to their winning ways.
