]]>I got to her office early: 8:35. I guess I left too much time for traffic. I'm still a silly small town girl who doesn't understand rush hour, I guess. I was in such a rush to get out the door, I forgot breakfast. Luckily, there's a Dunn Bro's down the street. The one right off the Central Ave Bridge. I wend down there and got a bran muffin, latte with soy and a free white carnation. (Happy Valentine's day!) $6.93
Got back to the office at about 9:10. She still wasn't there, so I called her cell phone. Apparently, she forgot about me and was half way to Coon Rapids for a meeting. Great. We made an appointment to meet later that day. Luckily, my afternoon class was canceled.
Got back to the insurance place at about 2pm. Finally got car insurance and renters insurance. ( A good idea, I figure with the two computers I own, it's probably a good thing to do.) $96.40
Got back in the car to go down to the dmv. There is a dmv in Sears! I didn't know that. Strikes me as a little odd. Got the car registered and got Minnesota plates. $79.50

]]>I've had a lot of spending going on lately. New car, getting the new car fixed, getting portfolio stuff together, spring break trip expenses (going to Seattle, yay!), study abroad expenses (going on Travels with Typography, yay!) I'm really stressed about how much money I'm borrowing this semester, but I guess it needs to be done. This whole 4 years of design school is worthless without a beautiful portfolio to go with it.
I guess, I'm trying to say that all the spending I'll be listing for the last 2 weeks of blogging was done grudgingly. There wasn't much. Well there was a lot. Everything was large, necessary purchases. The every day stuff (basically the coffee) is consistent from day to day. I bring my food with me, especially in these past two weeks, and I've cut back on the frivolous food purchases. I'm working of building a professional wardrobe and getting stuff to make my portfolio, as a whole, look nice.

Then. Then. I lost my wallet. So no bus pass, no bank card, no bus pass, no library card, etc. This is going to change my spending. My boss had to come pick me up and drop me off at home. I felt aweful asking her to do that; she lives way out on the other side of the city. Went home. No food. Great. Had Chinese delivery and went to bed. Food for the next two days! Yay!

So I went to the Larson Gallery as usual, and had my morning coffee and cliff bar from the Gopher Spot. $2.97
After work, I needed to do some research on Seattle for GD4. I went to the public library downtown and checked out my first books from there! I also got to use the futuristic moving reference shelves. Free.
Then off to meet a guy from craigslist about buying the broken computer. (It had a broken screen. Short story: my landlord doesn't keep up our parking lot, so I fell on the same ice that I broke my foot on in the parking lot, and he agreed to pay for fixing the computer: $800) Met at a starbucks downtown: $3.45 for a coffee. Ouch. I guess I did get $500 for the broken computer though.
Then, off to the bookstore to buy a replacement laptop. (Whoo! Leopard is pretty!) $1100 on my student account. This is taken care of with the settlement money and money from selling the old laptop.
Meanwhile, my friend who lives in Seattle got stuck in MSP because there was a blizzard in Madison. So I met him at the airport and took him to dinner before he drove to Madison in a rental car. He works for Microsoft, so Bill Gates covered the bill at the Happy Gnome in St. Paul.

Well on Saturday, Lynette, my boss, bought us lunch because we moved the store to a new location. Today is the first day I worked there. It is significantly farther from campus, but also significantly closer to home. It is also significantly farther away from any food. Beck and I ordered Jimmy Johns for lunch: $6 with tip.
Also, should note, that because of the way I was feeling, I consumed about 20 hours of bad internet tv over the weekend. Thank god I'm feeling better, not sure how much more laying around sick, watching bad tv, I can take.
