Two black men from Nashville filed a class action lawsuit against ABC and the producers of the reality television show The Bachelor for purposeful discrimination against people of color, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Nathaniel Claybrooks and Christopher Johnson's suit, according to the Vancouver Sun, says ABC has never put a single person of color - whether African American, Hispanic or Asian - in the central role of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette.

Attorney representing Claybrooks and Johnson, Cyrus Mehri told Entertainment Weekly, "...[the producers of the show and ABC] are sending a message of exclusiveness - of denying people opportunity - and that has a negative effect on this country that we plan today to start to turn around."

According to the LA Times, Jada Pinkett Smith decided to recently address the public rumors about a separation from her long-time husband Will Smith in an interview with the magazine Gala, translated by People magazine.

"These rumors are completely untrue ... our lifestyle hasn't changed," Jada told the magazine, according to the LA Times. "Before we had the kids, we were already far away from each other quite often because of separate projects."

After a media frenzy, circling her marriage for months, Jada put a stop to the circus, according to People magazine, after she was quoted replying to a question of the couple living at separate estates, "That's ridiculous. We've always lived together."

Gopher Linebacker found dead in dorm

Minnesota Linebacker, Gary Tinsley, was found dead in his dorm room on the Minneapolis campus Friday morning. He was 22.

University Police Chief Greg Hestness told reporters Tinsley was found unresponsive in his apartment at Roy Wilkins Hall, according to ESPN.

A senior graduating this May, Tinsley completed his athletic eligibility with the U, ending with 87 career tackles last season.

According to the Pioneer Press, the death of the Jacksonville, Fla. Native will be treated by investigators as "suspicious" because it involved a "young athlete," Hestness said, mentioning there was no evidence of foul play, He also told reporters the police were not aware of any pre-existing medical conditions that may have caused his death.

An autopsy is planned, and the cause of death will not be released prior to those results.

Ashton Kutcher to play Steve Jobs in film

According to the Bradenton Herald, "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" posted the biggest opening of the year at the box office. The 3-D, animated film exceeded expectations, raking in an estimated $70.7 million.

The film included stars such as Danny DeVito, Taylor Swift and Zac Efron and was based on Dr. Seuss' 1971 children's book about a small, orange character on a mission to save trees.

The Hollywood Reporter reports the environmentally-minded animation film was an enormous victory for the film business as well, revenue reflected an increase of nearly 30 percent this weekend.

Kevin Durant wins MVP of the All-Star game

As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Sunday evening the Western Conference beat the Eastern Conference 152-149 in the 2012 All-Star game. The Amway Center hosted the star studded game, including MVP Kevin Durant after scoring 36 points and leading the West to a great victory.

Along with Kevin Durant's accomplishments, this game also went into the history record books as Kobe Bryant surpassed a record previously held by Michael Jordan for most points scored in All-Star games, according to the Huffington Post.

In Sunday's game against the Denver Nuggets, Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder's small forward, lead their team to a victory by scoring a career high 51 points.

Assisting in the dynamic win over Denver, Durant's 51 points were accompanied by Russell Westbrook scoring 40 points and Serge Ibaka with his first career triple-double, including 11 blocks, reported by the Miami Herald.

According to, Durant walked over to his mother and gave her a kiss and a hug at the sound of the final horn.

Whitney Houston, pop icon and superstar, dies at 48

The music world was shocked to hear the titan of the pop charts, Whitney Houston passed away Saturday in her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton.

The LA Times reports Kirsten Foster, a publicist, announced Houston's death Saturday, and police sources later confirmed that she was found unresponsive in her hotel room around 3:30 p.m.

She was reportedly rehearsing for the Pre-Grammy award party hosted by Clive Davis, that evening, at which, she was scheduled to perform.

The New York Times
reported that paramedics spent nearly 20 minutes trying to revive her, said authorities.

There were no signs of foul play, authorities said. The cause of death is still under investigation as they await toxicology tests.

Don Cornelius, creator of 'Soul Train' Dies at 75

Don Cornelius, a television host responsible for introducing black music and culture to American television was found dead at his home in Los Angeles.

Creator of one of the longest-running syndicated shows in television history, Cornelius introduced the nation to various black musicians and artist back in the 1970s and 80s, reported by the New York Times.

Los Angeles County assistant chief coroner, Ed Winter, told the New York Times that police officers found Cornelius's body in the floor of his house at 4 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the head after responding to a reported shooting.

The Los Angeles Times reports the early evidence suggests he died of a self-inflicting gunshot wound, although authorities stress that the death remains under investigation.

Vanessa Bryant recieves large divorce settlement

Kobe and Vanessa Bryant's divorce settlement, after a ten year marriage, allegedly resulted in Vanessa Bryant taking away $75 million and three properties formerly belonging to the couple in Newport Beach, Calif.

The Los Angeles Times reports the Orange County properties' estimated worth to be around $18.8 million and that Vanessa will most likely receive child and spousal support from Kobe, who has a net worth of $150 million.

According to The New York Post, the Bryant couple had no prenuptial agreement and Vanessa is being represented by Laura Wasser and Samantha Klein, top, celebrity divorce lawyers.
