Jerry Kill, former head coach of Northern Illinois University, has been named the University Of Minnesota's new head football coach Sunday night, the Pioneer Press reports.
Kill has previously been a head coach for four universities, while former head coach Tim Brewster had no previous head coaching or coordinating experience.
Kill finished his 2010 season with the Huskies No. 25 in the nation with a 10-3 record. Kill and his Huskies also earned their third-straight bowl game in the 2010 season.
The Star Tribune reports both university's fans are upset with the move. In DeKalb, fans said they were experiencing a dream season, but in Minnesota, fans wanted someone with a 'big name', like Tubby Smith.
