In today’s world of complex public challenges, we often turn to collaboration as a strategy to accomplish our goals. Indeed, it is difficult to imagine successfully addressing problems such as poverty reduction, economic development, quality early childhood education, the educational achievement gap, disaster relief, or HIV/AIDS reduction without some sort of collaborative understanding and agreement.
In the transportation field, collaboration is becoming a necessary component to projects of all sizes. Commissioner of Transportation, Tom Sorel, will be addressing just this topic at an upcoming conversation this Thursday, April 16th at the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs. Sorel will discuss several examples of collaboration within transportation including projects related to the I-35W construction. Come also to hear his reflections on a 30-year career in public service.
