CLA: Political Science News

Caroline Abadeer, a Political Science/Global Studies major and French minor, has received a Fulbright Scholarship. With this scholarship, Caroline will be studying and conducting research in Morocco for the 2011-2012 school year. Prior to her departure for Morocco, she plans to spend this summer in Berlin on a month-long English teaching assistant fellowship. Caroline will then return to the States for her Fulbright orientation in Washington, D.C. She plans to keep us up to date on her travels and adventures by creating a travel blog once she arrives in Morocco. Congratulations, Caroline!

A CLA student, Brittany Libra, has been selected as the University of Minnesota's Katherine E. Sullivan Scholar for 2011-2012. Brittany is enrolled in the University Honors Program and is majoring in Political Science and Global Studies. She is also completing a minor in Spanish Studies.

Brittany has been extensively involved in human rights work on campus and in the community. She will use her Sullivan Scholarship during 2011-12 to study in Santiago, Chile on the International Education of Students (IES) Abroad program. She is interested in pursuing a career in public policy and women's health.

The Sullivan Scholarship funds a fifth year of undergraduate study abroad. Students from all U of MN campuses are eligible to apply. There were 18 applicants from three campuses this year.
