Public Policy Speaker Series

On Monday, April 2, the Department of Political Science and the Public Policy Speaker Series presents Professor Suzanne Mettler of Cornell University. She is in the process of studying the changes in America's welfare state since the 1970s, the politics of higher education policy, and how the new health care reform of 2010 influences American's attitudes about the law and their political involvement.
Professor Mettler's talk, presented at 11am in room 1314 Social Science, will focus on her latest book, "The Submerged State: How Invisible Government Policies Undermind American Democracy."
Professor Mettler will also present on Tuesday, April 3 in the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at noon. Her talk will be followed by a discussion moderated by Political Science Professor Kathryn Pearson.
