The Fourth Judicial District is seeking a half-time forensic psychometrist to administer and score specialized psychological assessment instruments used in Court evaluations.
Our division serves the Criminal, Juvenile, Family, and Probate/Mental Health Courts. The client population is diverse; the ages range from early adolescence through elderly adults. The candidate selected must be able to establish rapport and cooperation with this range of clients, and to communicate the results to professional staff. The candidate must be detail oriented, observant of behavior, and flexible when completing independent assignments.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Responsibilities include:
•Administers specialized psychological assessment instruments, including malingering and personality instruments.
•Trains on the administration of neuropsychological, memory, and intelligence assessment instruments under monitored supervision; administers as experience is gained.
•Elicits test completion with individuals involved in non-voluntary, Court-ordered evaluations.
•Documents clinically relevant client behaviors and any behaviors affecting test validity or deviations from standardized procedure.
•Scores assessment instruments objectively, accurately, and reliably, using hand-scoring methods and various computer software scoring programs.
•Schedules testing appointments with clients; coordinates his or her schedule with staff psychologists, other Court officers, and detention deputies in order to meet deadlines set by the Court.
•Consults with staff psychologists following testing sessions to discuss test results, validity considerations, and observations of client behavior.
•Collects data and keeps records on individuals tested.
•Writes reports on test results, interviews and observations.
•Participates in staff meetings and training sessions.
•May testify in Court.
•Other duties as assigned
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's degree in psychology, with coursework in tests and measurements, and abnormal psychology.
•Experience in administration and scoring of psychological tests.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
•Ability to interview and interact with clients in a forensic setting.
•Successful applicant will be required to pass a BCA criminal background check.

•Coursework in child development, statistics and personality
•Experience working with diverse populations, including non-English speaking
