PhD Brian Connelly Receives Prestigious Award
It's my pleasure to let you know that Brian Connelly (Psychology PhD '08 in I/O Psychology, Advisor: Deniz S. Ones) is the winner of the 2010 S. Rains Wallace Dissertation Award from the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP; Division 14 of APA) in recognition of the best doctoral dissertation research in the field of industrial and organizational psychology. This award is given to the person who completes the best doctoral dissertation research germane to the field. The winning dissertation research also demonstrates the use of research methods that are both rigorous and creative. The Rains Wallace Dissertation Award is a highly competitive award, previously won in 1970 by Robert Pritchard and in 1991 by Rodney McCloy (MN Psychology PhDs, Advisor (to both): John P. Campbell), in 1996 by Steffanie Wilk (MN HRIR PhD, Advisor: Paul R. Sackett) and in 1994 by I/O faculty member Deniz Ones. Previously, Brian also received the 2009 Tanaka Award for best dissertation in personality psychology from the Association for Research in Personality.
